3 Nights / 4 Days Captivating Kidepo Valley Safari

Kidepo, a true African wilderness lies in the rugged, semi-arid valleys of Karamoja province on the far northern border of Uganda and Sudan. Kidepo Valley is Uganda’s second largest national park. Alhough it is the most remote National Park, Kidepo has an amazing array of flora and fauna. Though few have had the privilege of undertaking the pilgrimage to this park, the stunning beauty of this faultless wilderness is very impressing to adventure enthusiasts looking for wildlife safaris . Kidepo is the perfect Uganda safari for those keen rare wildlife, several bird species for Ornithologists and great scenery for photo safari lovers. It contains a bird list of over 475 species, a total second only to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Also putting in mind the unique culture of the host community the Karamajong, a nomadic pastoral tribe in north eastern Uganda.

Day 1: Kampala – Kidepo Valley National Park

Pick up from your Kampala hotel at 0700 hrs and drive to Kidepo National Park following the shortest route (656 km) Kampala -Soroti -Kotido via Amuria to the far North-East where Uganda borders Kenya and Southern Sudan. This afternoon, you will have an opportunity to view some of the Park animals and birds found close by the camp.

Meal Plan: Full Board Travel Time: Full day drive.

Day 2: Game Drives, Scenic Views and Community Walk

After an early morning breakfast, embark on a morning game drive to Kanangorok hot spring. Where a variety of animals and birds can be seen roving around like the fast running Ostrich. Have an afternoon Game Drive that will take you through the Narus Valley to see herds of buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, zebras and hopefully some lions, leopard and the elusive cheetah. This will also enable you to be in full sight of varieties of birds as well. Stops will be made at any time in order for you to be able to take pictures of fabulous wildlife and birds along the way. En route to your camp for lunch and have a brief rest, until evening where you will go for a cultural tour in the Karimajong community. Here you will spend a wonderful evening with Karamojong people and have an insight of their way of life and beliefs. At the end of the tour you will be able to understand why their pride makes them slow to adapt to globalization.

Day 3: Nature Walk, Game Drives

Have an early breakfast and go for a nature walk to view a variety of fauna and flora species in the park. Return to your camp for lunch and a brief rest in the mid-afternoon. Take another exciting game drive across savannah, hills, small forests, dry river beds and rings of mountains around you.

Day 4: Kidepo Valley – Kampala

After breakfast, enjoy beautiful scenery as you travel back to Kampala with lunch served en route. You arrive back in Kampala in the evening after a full day’s drive.
